Nicknamed the Switzerland of America, the mountain town of Ouray is nestled among the San Juan Mountains in the Western Slope of Colorado, offering visitors convenient access to a wide range of mountain recreation activities. Designated as a National Historic District, Ouray is rich in history and cultural experiences. Visitors can learn about the mining heritage of this former gold and silver district at the Bachelor-Syracuse Mine and the Ouray County Museum.
